President Donald Trump’s hair has long been the focus of whispers, with many speculating that he is naturally bald and restored his hair using some sort of replacement. Yet Trump’s latest do, a seeming dye job, is so bizarre that there are rumors that the image in question is actually that of a body double.

“US President Donald Trump sparked online speculation about a possible body double on Friday after boarding Air Force One at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland with hair that appeared noticeably darker than usual,” International Business Times’ Nica Marie Virtudazo wrote on Sunday. “The speculation echoed longstanding online rumours about First Lady Melania Trump, who has been the subject of unproven claims on social media that a body double appears in her place at some events. Those claims remain unverified and have not been substantiated by credible evidence.”
Virtudazo added, “”One person on X questioned Trump’s identity, writing, ‘That’s not Trump. That is a body double. Or a body half because this person is half the size of the real Trump. Hair is half the color.’ Another user simply wrote, ‘That’s the body double.'”
Even when Trump’s hair isn’t inspiring rumors of body doubling, it still tends to attract mirth, as evidenced by commentary as recently as last month.
“President Donald Trump made an ‘oddly specific’ remark about medication during a recent address, per The Daily Beast, and in doing so, reignited speculation about his alleged struggles with hair loss,” The Daily Beast wrote in August. “As The Daily Beast noted in a recent report, Trump on Friday gave an address to law enforcement officials in Garden City, NY, during which he touched on the modern development of stores in major population centers putting certain medical products in locked glass cases to deter shoplifting. During this bit, he made an ‘oddly specific’ reference to products that add volume to hair.”

During the remarks in question, Trump described his idea of a bathroom setup by saying, “Every shelf has glass on it, and it has a lock and a key. I said, ‘Why do you do that? How do you live like that?’ You want a toothbrush or a little toothpaste, or you want to get a little Dove soap. You want a little of that good hair that can puff up your hair a little bit more, so it makes it look like you have 4 percent more than you had—they charge you for it. Give me a break. And that’s because nothing happens to these criminals.”
Speaking about Trump’s hair last month, The Daily Beast’s Michael Wolff — who has extensively covered the president — said he believes the president to be naturally bald.
“Well, I can tell you what’s under Donald Trump’s hair, and what is under Donald Trump’s hair is nothing,” Wolff said, emphasizing the point by gesturing toward his own bald pate.. That that that’s actually what the top of Donald Trump’s head is like.”
