Mediaite reports Fox News token liberal Jessica Tarlov said the nation would be a better place if Covid had not derailed Trump’s second term.

The confession might have come as a shock in her New Yorker podcast considering the enmity Tarlov has for the president, but that at least would have spared the nation from life under a deteriorating president with no guardrails.
“Without Covid Trump would have won re-election, and I wish that he had. I wish because we would be done now. Because he, like [Disney’s] Ursula, got stronger,” Tarlov told the podcast host of The New Yorker Radio Hour.
“He established a cadre of advisors that understood the challenge. Russ Vought wasn’t as powerful in Round One. Stephen Miller certainly wasn’t as powerful. Project 2025, not a thing. And so, I hate that we gave them four years to take a sledgehammer to the country. We haven’t found a way to deliver our vision for the future outside of slogans.”
The average conservative voter is mad at tariffs, the war in Iran and the “self-dealing,” she said. “They know Donald Trump is corrupt. I look back to the 2020 lines of argumentation about why we needed Donald Trump out and what Joe Biden could provide, and it was a safe pair of hands.”

The Trump of 2020, while a malignant narcissist and a low-information president, was still a man surrounded by more intelligent people capable at least of restraining him. He was also in better health mentally, say critics.
Democrats, meanwhile, have not used Biden’s time in office to craft a better message for American voters.
“I get why it’s great to write a policy paper, … but just give me the bumper stickers. Where’s your ‘no tax on tips’? Liberals, we have ingested all of this learning and have yet to spit something out that can win an election on our ideas and out merits and just not being the other guy,” Tarlov said.
