After Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH) urged his son-in-law Rep. Max Miller (R-OH) to resign from office due to allegations that Miller brutally beat Moreno’s daughter Emily on multiple occasions, and on at least one also beat Moreno’s 2-year-old granddaughter, President Donald Trump’s allies and allegedly Trump himself have started concurring in Moreno’s sentiment.

Now, apparently, Sen. Moreno has had enough of answering questions about the matter.
“Sen. Moreno basically tells reporters to back off on Max Miller,” Politico’s Burgess Everett posted on X on Monday. “He didn’t like being asked by one reporter why it took him so long to put out his statement.”
Everett then quoted Moreno, “I hope you never have to go through this situation, because you wouldn’t ask that kind of f—– question.”
When Everett asked Moreno why Miller is not taking Moreno’s advice to resign, Moreno replied, “You’ll have to ask him.” He described the matter as a “pretty grotesque” example of a “personal family situation.

On Sunday, Moreno posted on X that “as a father and husband, I can tell you the last two years have been pure hell for my wife Bridget, our daughter Emily, me, and our entire family in the aftermath of Emily’s divorce.”
He added, It has been horrific to watch this play out in full public view, all while knowing an innocent two-year-old girl is caught in the middle,. Our priority has always been protecting our daughter and our granddaughter. Out of concern for the safety of my family, I hoped to keep this matter private but Max Miller’s increasingly erratic and dangerous behavior has made that impossible.”
Moreno went on to say, “As he has admitted privately, Max Miller needs serious psychological help. He is a danger to my daughter, and I hold my breath every minute he has custody of my granddaughter.”
Miller, by contrast, denied everything in his own Sunday statement.
“Accusations dominate headlines while far too little attention has been paid to the facts,” Miller argued. “I’ve been portrayed as an abusive husband, an abusive father, and a violent man. Those allegations have damaged my reputation, caused enormous pain to my family, and most importantly, it’s affected our daughter. Today, I’m on here because I’ve received dozens of interview requests about this topic, but I’ve learned from the two that I have already done that the truth will not come out that way.”
