It’s a bad day when visiting analysts march onto Fox News and give its Trump-supporting viewers the worst news possible.

Mediaite reports that somber moment was brought on Thursday by former Obama advisor and regular Fox News contributor Robert Wolf, who probably said what many Republican voters and conservative viewers already know: Trump’s Iran War cat is long out of the bag.
During a panel discussion with anchor Bret Baier, Wolf was asked about the price of oil surging to $100 per barrel earlier Thursday as Iran-backed forces targeted more oil tankers in the region, even expanding attacks into the Red Sea.
“There’s a lot to unpack about what’s happened in the past week,” said Wolf. “Obviously, the MOU wasn’t worth the paper it’s on. … You know, if you think about March 2026, when President Trump was in Kentucky, he said in the first hour it was over, but ‘we won.’ I hate to say this, but that’s like a ‘mission accomplished’ moment.”
Wolf was making to reference to a now infamous statement by former President George W. Bush’s 2003 speech, which became synonymous with premature declarations of victory. After Bush’s “Mission Accomplished” the US continued to remain in Iraq for roughly a decade, running up a nearly $3 trillion bill in the process.

“Right now, it doesn’t feel like we have an exit strategy,” Wolf added. “Yesterday was a brutal day for America, with the dignified transfers. I mean, any parent out there — we saw a young woman, 19, we saw a man, 25, who were deceased from this war that, unfortunately, the administration isn’t calling a war.”
MAGA already appears to have had it with President Donald Trump’s Iran war, with just a third saying it is worth the economic costs — a steep drop since May, when over half supported the commander-in-chief. This means that Trump is underwater with the one group that has remained loyal to him for a decade now.
Even MAGA-aligned lawmakers are confessing problems, with Rep. Pat Harrigan (R-NC) eventually forced to admit that he disagreed with Trump’s attempt to downplay the lethality of his war with Iran.
