JP Morgan recently flagged a slow-building food crisis, and Fox Business on Tuesday dispatched a message directly to President Donald Trump about the global threat he’s potentially aggravating.<\/p>\n

\u201cA JPMorgan (JPM) fertilizer analysis has been recirculating this week alongside a figure suggesting grocery prices could jump 12.3 percent,\u201d reports marketing expert Tobi Opeyeni Anure for The Street, adding this could arrive on top of American household budgets seeing a 9.9 percent rise in food prices since 2022, the fastest pace since 1979, according to the USDA Economic Research Service. <\/p>\n

Fox reports a crisis potentially cascading thanks to Trump\u2019s ongoing Iran war, with corn, soybeans wheat and other food staples deteriorating, said Fox guest speaker Scott Shellady. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve got a problem with logistics. Logistics around the world has slowed up,\u201d Shellady told Fox Business, referring to the issue with Trump\u2019s Strait of Hormuz, but also with blockades in the Black Sea also related to Trump\u2019s attacks on Iran.<\/p>\n

\u201cBoth of them cause problems with fertilizer and when we don\u2019t put down enough fertilizer guess what happens to yields. This is a cascading event. This is a logistics issue, it\u2019s a weather issue and it\u2019s a political issue and they\u2019re all stacking up for the perfect storm where JP Morgan sees food inflation at five percent next year. And that could be a real problem if we get any big hiccups with Mother Nature,\u201d Shellady said.<\/p>\n

But social media critics pointed out that Fox News is one of only a handful of entertainment services Trump monitors, and their livid presentation of the looming food threat was no accident.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy would Fox News, after promoting Trump [and] MAGA dutifully for years, suddenly reveal this? are things much worse than we’d thought?\u201d posted prolific author Joyce Carol Oates on X.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey know Natalie (Harp) won\u2019t tell him, so they have to put it on Fox so he knows what he\u2019s doing has consequences,\u201d wrote another critic in response.<\/p>\n

\u201cRupert knows which way the wind blows,\u201d said another. <\/p>\n

\u201cAre we winning?\u201d snapped another heckler.<\/p>\n

A MAGA account complained that Fox is likely sounding alarms because \u201cpeople are starving, can’t pay rent and on the verge of becoming full-fledged [NYC Mayor Zohran] Mamdani-style progressives. Which will hurt the pocketbook of Fox News and their advertisers directly. If Fox News does not throw Trump under the bus, Trump’s stupidity will throw them under first.\u201d<\/p>\n
