AL.com reports that the deep-red state of Alabama is one of the impoverished states lining up for a beating from presidential inaction from the White House it created in the last election.<\/p>\n

\u201cBarring action from Congress, millions of Americans who depend on Social Security could see their benefits cut by as much as 24 percent in 2032,\u201d reports AL.com. \u201cThe deep cuts would average about $500 a month.\u201d<\/p>\n

One-in-five Americans \u2013 63 million in total \u2013 are slated to lose monthly income if Social Security\u2019s retirement program gets a 24 percent cut today, said AL.com. And for Alabama, this will mean an average cut of $486.<\/p>\n

Total benefit cuts would top 1 percent of Gross Domestic Product in 40 states with the largest economic impact in red states like Alabama, Arkansas, Idaho, Mississippi, Montana, South Carolina, and West Virginia, among others<\/p>\n

\u201cThe latest projections from the Social Security Board of Trustees show that the reserves of the Old-Age and Survivors Insurance Trust Fund are set to run out in the fourth quarter of 2032. After that point, Social Security would only be able to pay 76 percent of promised benefits,\u201d AL.com reports.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Big Beautiful Bill that Trump and Republicans passed is preparing to deliver more immediate pain from an entirely different angle, according to the Christian Science Monitor. <\/p>\n

\u201cAt the time of the OBBBA\u2019s passage, it faced widespread criticism from Democrats. A July 2025 Quinnipiac poll found that 44 percent of Americans thought the bill would hurt rather than help them personally. The same month, longtime GOP strategist Karl Rove predicted on Fox News that the bill could pose problems for his party in the next round of elections.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it’ll have a huge impact on 2026, because, remember, as these changes, particularly the Medicaid changes, come into effect, they\u2019re going to have, people are going to be losing their coverage,\u201d said. Rove.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, voters are not buying into the tax cut Republicans and Trump touted during the bill\u2019s passage.<\/p>\n
