Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) on Wednesday said he\u2019s still doesn\u2019t \u201cknow anything\u201d about Sen. Mitch McConnell\u2019s (R-KY) condition after the 84-year-old senator suffered a fall on June 14 that led to his hospitalization. <\/p>\n

Speaking with independent journalist Nicholas Ballasy, Tuberville said McConnell \u201clives next door to me, but he\u2019s still in the hospital, doing rehab.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked by Ballasy if that\u2019s \u201call you know,\u201d Tuberville replied: \u201cI don\u2019t know anything.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tuberville has previously called for more information from the senator. <\/p>\n

Tuberville, speaking with Fox News on July 16, said McConnell \u201cneeds to come out and put a little video out\u201d after senators \u201cdidn\u2019t get any information” at the senator’s luncheon that morning.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know why, what\u2019s going on, but that\u2019s not my business; that\u2019s the leadership\u2019s business, and we wish him well,\u201d Tuberville said at the time.<\/p>\n

McConnell\u2019s team has released two \u201cproof-of-life\u201d photos that have raised more questions than answers about the senator\u2019s condition. The first, on July 12, featured McConnell and wife Elaine Chao seated in a hospital bed with a copy of that morning\u2019s The Washington Post<\/em>. The second was released on July 27 with McConnell seated in a chair next to Chao.<\/p>\n

That second release prompted a journalist and family friend of Chao\u2019s to call out one \u201c implausible\u201d detail in the photo.<\/p>\n

“I’ve known members of the Chao family \u2014 specifically, Elaine\u2019s apolitical sisters (Grace and the late Angela) \u2014 since our college years,\u201d podcaster Jeff Yang wrote. “I can\u2019t imagine Elaine, one of the most put-together people in existence, releasing a pic wearing a thin shirt over a visible black bra, untucked. Just implausible.\u201d<\/p>\n

A forensic psychologist also said the July 27 photo was littered with \u201cred flags,\u201d including the composition which kept McConnell’s hands out frame just out frame. As AlterNet reported at the time, the framing could “hide any possible ‘edemas’ that they might show, or anything else concerning about them.”<\/p>\n

“[McConnell and Chao] don’t want you to ask any other questions; they don’t want to give any other information,” Garrison said of the photo.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the best that they could do,” he explained. “It doesn’t seem that they’re able to get him to be with it enough to take a decent photo.”<\/p>\n

Tuberville, in that July 16 Fox News interview, said McConnell’s absence could throw a wrench in Senate votes.<\/p>\n

“He’s gonna need to come back probably before this three-week session\u2019s over with, because then we’re off for like five weeks,” Tuberville said.<\/p>\n
