President Donald Trump\u2019s Wednesday speech in Law Vegas had no shortage of rambling and more than it\u2019s fair share of broken chains of thought. More than enough to keep social media commenters and self-styled comedians busy when the monologue was done.<\/p>\n

But commenters were particularly tawdry over Trump\u2019s claim of First Lady Melania Trump\u2019s film success.<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s boast came after a tortured path through a description of \u201cdirty\u201d blue cities.<\/p>\n

\u201cI see \u2026 a lot of bad results when you have the wrong people and the wrong ideology. But one of the things I see \u2014 and you see it here \u2014 the blue states run by Democrats, everything\u2019s filthy, dirty all the time. The cities stink, they smell, the sidewalks [are] loaded was horrible stuff. I don\u2019t want to use the term because my wife \u2026 she hates it when I use the term,\u201d Trump began.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe doesn\u2019t love it. She hates it when I imitate \u2026 no men in women\u2019s sports. She hates it when I do the [woman] weight lifter. She said, \u2018It\u2019s not presidential.\u2019 I said \u2018Well, it may not be presidential, but I won the election in a landslide\u2019, so I don\u2019t know. Well, she\u2019s very elegant. You know, Melania says hello to everybody. By the way, but she\u2019s very, very elegant, she did a movie, I think it\u2019s the number one movie of the year. She\u2019s very elegant.\u201d<\/p>\n

He clearly thought wrong, according to the legion of critics that swarmed posts of his video on X.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt wasn\u2019t #1 for even a single day it was in theaters,\u201d said author Hemant Mehta on X.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet’s call it what it is: a lie,\u201d said another X heckler.<\/p>\n

\u201cTom Holland would like a word,\u201d said another, referencing another Marvel movie lining up to be a smash.<\/p>\n

\u201cI heard it was a number two,\u201d quipped another comedian on X. <\/p>\n

Mediaite reports \u201cMelania: Twenty Days to History\u201d<\/em> made $7 million in its opening weekend amid claims GOP operatives and candidates bought out entire theaters to funnel it money. But the movie cost Amazon MGM Studios $75 million to make. The documentary debuted as the third-most popular movie upon release, behind Send Help<\/em> and The Iron Lung<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

In February, the movie had received a collective score of just 6 out of 100 from critics, which indicates \u201coverwhelming dislike.\u201d Similarly, Melania<\/em> scored a mere 6 percent on Rotten Tomatoes\u2019 \u201cTomameter,\u201d indicating that 94 percent of reviews for the movie had been negative.<\/p>\n

Even award-winning journalist and media founder Katherine Couric whacked the First Lady\u2019s maligned documentary, handing it a highly sarcastic \u201criveting\u201d for a scene featuring Melania Trump feebly trickling out karaoke from a car\u2019s back seat.<\/p>\n
