A former communications director for President Donald Trump is warning that the Republican leader and his supporters are shameless about one big issue.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnswer these questions: Are you allowed to insider trade in Congress?\u201d Anthony Scaramucci, who worked for the president during his first term, posted on X on Thursday. \u201cCan the president do his so-called businessman\u2019s deals? Is any of this actually legal?\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cMy opinion is: It smells terrible and it should be stopped. But we\u2019ve lost our sense of shame. Trump said 2 things: 1. It\u2019s peanuts and not that much money. 2. Nobody cares. That second one is the one that should keep you up at night.\u201d<\/p>\n

Scaramucci concluded, \u201cHopefully people actually do care. Hopefully they show up in November and send these guys a message.\u201d<\/p>\n

The erstwhile GOP aide has emerged as one of the president\u2019s fiercest critics. Last month, Scaramucci told CNN that Trump does not care about other members of his own Republican Party.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don’t think he cares about the Republican Party,\u201d Scaramucci told CNN\u2019s Katy Tur. \u201cI do a podcast with Katty Kay called The Rest Is Politics US. I say repeatedly \u2014 he doesn’t care about the Republican Party. He almost doesn’t want [Secretary of State Marco] Rubio or [Vice President JD] Vance to be as successful, because he really doesn’t want anybody to take any credit for anything. Moreover, he wants to tell Republicans: you guys were nobodies before I arrived in 2015, and you’ll be nobodies once again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Scaramucci also condemned his party\u2019s most prominent Republicans, saying that Americans should \u201cjust look at the way [Trump] was talking about people like [Senate Majority Leader John] Thune, [former Senate Majority Leader Mitch] McConnell or [Alaska Sen. Lisa] Murkowski \u2014 just go through the list of people that are still some semblance of traditional Republicans.\u201d<\/p>\n

He concluded that Trump appears to have \u201cfocused on making money for his family and creating a lot of stir and attention. And I think that’s really it.\u201d<\/p>\n

In May, Scaramucci accused Trump\u2019s supporters of being loyal to him like dogs, saying that \u201cTrump\u2019s approach to corruption is to do everything in the open. Make it so ridiculous and so inundating that people\u2019s heads spin and then once they\u2019re numb, keep going.\u201d He argued that Trump\u2019s biggest scandals, such as his suppression of the Jeffrey Epstein files, prove that \u201cwhen you ask voters what they care about, the Epstein files are at the bottom of the list. They want jobs and gas prices they can afford. Trump\u2019s corruption isn\u2019t even on their radar screen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also in May, Scaramucci argued there is a double standard between how Trump is not held accountable and how Democrats are expected to be accountable.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf Barack Obama had done half of what Trump is doing now, Fox News would have been calling for impeachment,\u201d Scaramucci said at the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrump has no economic philosophy,\u201d he added. \u201cHe spent $8.2 trillion in his first term and he’s on pace for $9 to $10 trillion in this one. We’re at 100 percent debt to GDP held by investors \u2014 122 percent if you count the Fed’s balance sheet. Ray Dalio will tell you those numbers put you in sovereign debt crisis territory. And when that happens, the only way politicians are willing to pay for it is through inflation. Which is the cruelest possible outcome, because inflation is the worst tax you can impose on lower and middle income people.\u201d<\/p>\n
