She noted the new Air Force One didn\u2019t have the necessary communications and defensive capabilities for \u201csafe travel amid Iran hostilities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTrump\u2019s earlier choice to use the gifted Qatari jet as a primary presidential aircraft has been controversial because the gifted plane lacks key military defenses of the original Air Force One, including the ability to refuel mid-air and missile-defense systems, according to a law enforcement official briefed on its capabilities,\u201d Leonnig reported.<\/p>\n<p>Despite multiple outlets reporting the same information, however, White House communications director Steven Cheung singled out Leonnig\u2019s post for attack. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cCarol Leonnig is a liar and this article is complete Fake News. She has no idea what she is talking about,\u201d posted Cheung on X. \u201cShe says the White House declined to comment. Not true. We gave comment to <em>The New York Times<\/em> and many other outlets. Carol is not a real journalist. A complete fraud.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But the New Republic points out that Cheung never actually disputed any of Leonnig\u2019s reporting in the post. He merely labeled it \u201cfake news\u201d without \u201coffering up any response.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd if his issue is with Leonning not attributing his comment, all he said to <em>The New York Times<\/em> on a similar story was \u201cthe new Air Force One is a state-of-the-art aircraft that has been fitted with high-level security protocols that ensure the safety of the president and his staff.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextaddressamerica.com\/?p=3057\">Trump\u2019s war reignites because of one central \u2018flaw in the MOU\u2019: WSJ analysis<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Critics on X took turns agreeing with Cheung or smashing his name-calling.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCheung isn\u2019t disputing the facts. Just attacking,\u201d pointed out former NPR News reporter Pam Fessler on X.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSecret Service advised Trump not to fly home from NATO Summit on Qatar-gifted Air Force One,\u201d said award-winning journalist and Just the News Founder John Solomon on X.<\/p>\n<p>Other, less professional hecklers, blasted Cheung for making an empty shot and running away.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr Neck Ham is a liar and so is Trump,\u201d said one X user. \u201cBut Leonnig is a fine reporter that tells the truth, and reports facts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Others were taking the side of indifference with perhaps a subtle jab: <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know what.
