Raffensperger\u2019s spokesperson, Robert Sinners, said the SOS conducted the first statewide citizenship audit of Georgia\u2019s voter rolls, improved a federal election database and even pressed Congress to enshrine citizen-only voting in the Constitution. <\/p>\n<p>The AJC reports Trump\u2019s threat arrived the same day a federal judge in Atlanta \u201csharply questioned the Justice Department\u2019s attempt to revive Trump\u2019s false claims of widespread fraud in Georgia\u2019s 2020 election.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Trump-appointed U.S. District Judge Billy Ray II threw out a sweeping subpoena seeking information on thousands of Fulton County election workers and found that the five-year statute of limitations for crimes linked to the election had \u201clong expired.\u201d However, Trump\u2019s DOJ issued the threat after a devastating Fox News poll revealed Democrats are destroying Republicans in most of the former red state\u2019s most contentious races.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextaddressamerica.com\/?p=2981\">Legal expert tears apart Trump\u2019s \u2018extortion\u2019 of blue states<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the Georgia governor\u2019s race, Democrat Keisha Lance Bottoms has a 5-point edge, with 52 percent support compared to 47 percent for Republican Rick Jackson,\u201d reported AJC, citing the Fox poll.
