A few excerpts: \u201cHe grossly distorts his opponents\u2019 records and proposals to make them sound unreasonable,\u201d \u201cHe exaggerates and twists the facts to make his record sound better than it is,\u201d \u201cHe relies on both well-worn and fresh claims of election rigging to suggest he can lose only if his opponents cheat,\u201d and \u201cHe makes unverifiable claims about what the world would have been like had he secured a second term.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday night, CNN fact-checker Daniel Dale, who started listening to or reading Trump\u2019s every public statement during the 2016 election cycle, debunked 30 of the ex-president\u2019s falsehoods and lies at his Wisconsin rally earlier that day. It took him just three minutes:<\/p>\n<p>Barb McQuade, the well-known MSNBC\/NBC News legal analyst, professor of law, and former U.S. Attorney responded to the CNN video: \u201cThe lies have become a tribal pose. Some Trump supporters believe his lies. Others don\u2019t care. It is all about allegiance to the tribe over truth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sarah Longwell, the executive director of the Republican Accountability Project and publisher of The Bulwark, earlier this year in The Atlantic wrote: \u201cTrump Supporters Explain Why They Believe the Big Lie.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE: Marjorie Taylor Greene\u2019s Desperate Scramble to Stop Steve Bannon From Going to Prison<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor many of Trump\u2019s voters, the belief that the election was stolen is not a fully formed thought. It\u2019s more of an attitude, or a tribal pose,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>John Stoehr, editor of the Editorial Board, said of Dale\u2019s fact-checking, \u201cWhat interesting here is Dan Dale isn\u2019t just fact checking Trump\u2019s lies. He\u2019s fact checking his delusions. More of that would highlight his habitual incoherence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s public remarks, in interviews and on stage at rallies, do seem to have taken a turn. Some critics, like Stoehr, have pointed out that at times the criminally-convicted ex-president\u2019s words aren\u2019t just false, they don\u2019t make sense.<\/p>\n<p>Journalist Aaron Rupar, founder of Public Notice, has watched and recorded countless hours of Trump\u2019s remarks.<\/p>\n<p>In this clip from just a few weeks ago, he says Trump was \u201cnot coherent.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>This video from earlier this month got a lot of attention, with Trump talking about shark attacks, and electrocution from boats.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Washington Post\u2019s Philip Bump offered one reason why Trump might have injected sharks and electric-powered boats into a campaign speech, despite it being to a crowd in landlocked Nevada: Trump\u2019s New York criminal trial was \u201ccentered on Stormy Daniels,\u201d who \u201cexplained that one of their encounters overlapped with the Discovery Channel\u2019s \u2018Shark Week\u2019 programming. As the two sat in Trump\u2019s hotel room, he volunteered how much he hated sharks and wished they all would die.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But that semi-logical divining still does not explain Trump\u2019s \u201ccognitive questions\u201d \u2013 perhaps best exposed most recently by the author of a new book on Trump, \u201cApprentice in Wonderland.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextaddressamerica.com\/?p=2010\">Former congressman worries Trump has turned the GOP into a party of sore losers<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE: Republican Who Declared His State a \u20182nd Amendment Sanctuary\u2019 Blocks Senate Bump Stock Ban<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cRamin Setoodeh, who interviewed Trump six times after he left office in 2021, told CNN\u2019s Kaitlan Collins that there were points during those sessions when Trump seemed to think he still had some presidential powers,\u201d HuffPost reports.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Saying he is the \u201cjournalist who spent the most time\u201d with Trump, post-election, Setoodeh notes, \u201cDonald Trump had severe memory issues.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>And while the anecdotes are disturbing, Setoodeh\u2019s summation is far worse: \u201cthere was some cognitive questions about where he was and what he was thinking and he would he would, from time to time become confused.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CNN\u2019s Kaitlan Collins told Setoodeh, \u201cyou talked about his memory, you wrote that, you know, on some days I have the feeling he has no idea who he\u2019s even talking to that he actually forgot, or didn\u2019t remember that the two of you had spoken at your first sit down interview.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Setoodeh responded, \u201cright.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not just telling the truth Trump has a problem with, it\u2019s his actual speech.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday Raw Story\u2018s Sarah K. Burris reported on several verbal stumbles Trump made during his Wisconsin rally.<\/p>\n<p>Trump, she wrote, \u201cstruggled to remember ABC News host George Stephanopoulos\u2019 name, making a couple of efforts to pronounce it: \u2018George Stopalopodis \u2026 George Stopodiaiiee.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTrump mispronounced citizenship by calling it \u2018citizensip.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018Joe Biden is forming granting mass\u2013thinkit,\u2019 Trump meandered in a section of the speech, with an excerpt of the video quickly spreading online.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Back in March, Salon\u2018s senior politics writer Chauncey DeVega wrote: \u201cIn a recent conversation with Dr. John Gartner, a prominent psychologist and contributor to the bestselling book \u2018The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 27 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President,\u2019 the former faculty member at Johns Hopkins University told me that based on Trump\u2019s speech, memory, recall, and other behavior, he appears to be \u2018hypomanic\u2019 and cognitively deteriorating at a rapid rate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>DeVega quotes Gartner saying, \u201cin my opinion, Donald Trump is dangerously demented.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had to speak out now because the 2024 election might turn on this issue of who is cognitively capable: Biden or Trump? It\u2019s a major issue that will affect some people\u2019s votes,\u201d Gartner said. \u201cNot enough people are sounding the alarm, that based on his behavior, and in my opinion, Donald Trump is dangerously demented. In fact, we are seeing the opposite among too many in the news media, the political leaders and among the public. There is also this focus on Biden\u2019s gaffes or other things that are well within the normal limits of aging. By comparison, Trump appears to be showing gross signs of dementia. This is a tale of two brains. Biden\u2019s brain is aging.
