Mediaite reports ESPN commenter and ardent President Donald Trump supporter Stephen A. Smith got hot today after a caller put him on blast for his misplaced devotion.<\/p>\n

Smith remains defensive of Trump, despite the president hazing him and calling him stupid whenever the announcer publicly disagrees with him. Last week, Trump berated Smith on Truth Social last week, calling Smith \u201can arrogant fool, a low IQ individual,\u201d \u201c\u2018dumb as a rock’\u201d and a \u201chuckster.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump also blasted Smith\u2019s political aspirations, if he had them, calling him \u201ctotally unqualified to ever think of running for high political office, or even low political office, for that matter!\u201d<\/p>\n

Smith\u2019s caller reminded him of this on his Wednesday SiriusXM radio show, Straight Shooter with Stephen A.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cStephen, I\u2019d like to congratulate you for being the latest Black person to be called low IQ by President Trump,\u201d said the caller, named \u2018Joe.\u2019 \u201cIt\u2019s quite a long and distinguished list of people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Smith leapt to Trump\u2019s defense, arguing that Trump\u2019s attack was not because to racism.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s not use that as a reason and cause to engage in the racial dynamics of the situation,\u201d Smith responded. \u201c\u2026 I think Donald Trump does anything to anybody who is anti-Trump. He don\u2019t give a d\u2014\u2014 what color, ethnicity, race, or group you are associated with. He could care less. If you are not pro-Trump, you are his enemy, and he treats you like it. That is what I believe.\u201d<\/p>\n

But the caller was having none of that, responding that Trump did not appear very high IQ himself. <\/p>\n

Again, Smith defended Trump.<\/p>\n

\u201cI used to talk to him for years before he was ever running for president. Folks didn\u2019t call him stupid then. When he was on Oprah Winfrey\u2019s show and he was friends with Whoopi Goldberg and others, people weren\u2019t calling him dumb them. As a matter of fact, people were asking him if he would ever run for office because they thought he was smart and they thought he was bright, because in all likelihood, he probably was,\u201d Smith argued.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you think somebody who graduates from the Wharton school \u2026 would know that you can\u2019t lower the price of something below 100 percent?\u201d Joe countered, referring to an infamous Trump claim to lower drug prices impossibly \u201cby 1,000 percent.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI just want to say that. Maybe someone should ask to see his college transcript,\u201d Joe insisted.<\/p>\n

At that, Smith demanded \u201cwhat the hell is that going to accomplish?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is the president,\u201d Smith continued. \u201c\u2026 What is that going to do? All that\u2019s going to do is make you feel good. It\u2019s almost like a child, you get to say, \u2018Nah nah nah nah nah, ha ha see I got your transcript.\u2019 What the f\u2014\u2014 does that mean? It doesn\u2019t mean anything. Excuse my cursing. I apologize for that. But I\u2019m p\u2014\u2014! It makes no sense. It\u2019s childish! It accomplishes nothing! Come to me with an idea that accomplishes something!\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s intelligence is increasingly under attack as his public appearances become filled with slurring, wandering and snoozing.<\/p>\n
