{"id":1565,"date":"2026-06-13T12:06:06","date_gmt":"2026-06-13T12:06:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nextaddressamerica.com\/?p=1565"},"modified":"2026-06-13T12:06:06","modified_gmt":"2026-06-13T12:06:06","slug":"hysteria-looms-as-a-beloved-trump-faction-abandons-him","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nextaddressamerica.com\/?p=1565","title":{"rendered":"Hysteria looms as a beloved Trump faction abandons him"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>The last time President Donald Trump got stomped in a midterm election, in 2018, his unpopularity cost his Republican Party more than three dozen House seats.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextaddressamerica.com\/?p=1564\">Face of \u2018evil\u2019: Melinda Gates says Jeffrey Epstein gave her nightmares<\/a><\/p>\n<p>But the New York Times reports even that wasn\u2019t a true stomping because \u201cthe bottom never truly fell out for the Republicans that year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>This year<\/em> is gearing up to be the real stomp.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe party actually gained ground in the Senate \u2014 as working-class white voters largely kept their faith in Mr. Trump\u2019s economic know-how,\u201d reports NY Times national political correspondent Shane Goldmacher. \u201cToday, that once-deep reservoir of good will has largely evaporated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s crucial bloc of blue-collar white voters are, for the first time, extremely doubtful of Trump\u2019s handling of the economy, and a NY Times review of polling is showing \u201can extraordinary swing on that issue among white voters without college degrees between his first midterm election and now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2018, working-class white voters still approved of Trump\u2019s management of the economy by margins of 30 percentage points or even more. Now, recent polls reveal them disapproving of him by 14 to more than 30 points, depending on the survey.<\/p>\n<p>To be sure, Trump\u2019s approval on the economy has dropped across practically every group, but the Times reports his \u201ccratering support\u201d among his most loyal, most white demographic means a pivotal foundation of his political coalition for more than a decade is potentially \u201cthe most consequential developments of 2026,\u201d according to interviews with strategists in both parties who are involved in the midterms.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s people and GOP strategists see the yawning cavern where their floor used to be, and they\u2019re freaking.
