{"id":1067,"date":"2026-06-05T06:07:13","date_gmt":"2026-06-05T06:07:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nextaddressamerica.com\/?p=1067"},"modified":"2026-06-05T06:07:13","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T06:07:13","slug":"karl-rove-has-a-major-warning-for-dems-counting-on-a-blue-wave-this-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nextaddressamerica.com\/?p=1067","title":{"rendered":"Karl Rove has a major warning for Dems counting on a blue wave this year"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Karl Rove is out with a warning for Democrats who may be optimistic about their chances of a big blue wave in November.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextaddressamerica.com\/?p=1065\">Trump\u2019s war is changing the Middle East \u2014 but in the worst possible way<\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to the longtime Republican political strategist and consultant, things may not be quite as rosy as Democrats think.<\/p>\n<p>As Mediaite reported, Rove pointed to a recent series of Marquette polls of Americans who are certain to vote in November, and found that the margins between Democrats and Republicans are far smaller than many other polls currently suggest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, look, I\u2019m not certain how much change there really is,\u201d Rove told Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer. \u201cYou\u2019ve got into the nitty gritty of these measures, how likely are you to vote, are you certain to vote etc., etc. But if you look at just the top line numbers among all the respondents in the survey, in May it was [46] D, 45 R \u2014 the Ds had a one-point advantage. In April it was 48-44, a four-point advantage. So the Democrats in the Marquette survey have dropped two, and the Republicans have added one, which is inside the margin of error.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEssentially,\u201d Rove continued, \u201cif you look at this one poll, what it suggests is that there hasn\u2019t been much change, but if there is any change, it\u2019s to the advantage of the Republicans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rove urged viewers to \u201cstep back\u201d and not lose sight of the \u201cbig picture,\u201d which is that America is a \u201chighly polarized country,\u201d that has just gone through \u201ca mid-decade redistricting that has mildly advantaged the Republicans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nextaddressamerica.com\/?p=1064\">Video destroys MAGA lawmaker\u2019s claim she was assaulted by famed pacifist<\/a><\/p>\n<p>He says the real question is, \u201chow big a gap do the Democrats need in order to pull off a significant sweep\u201d in the House?<\/p>\n<p>Democrats having an advantage of one point \u201cain\u2019t much,\u201d Rove said. He suggested that in order for Democrats to \u201ctake the House with a significant margin,\u201d they will need at least a five or six point advantage, at a minimum.<\/p>\n<p>According to Rove, many Democratic-held seats are in urban parts of the country, and therefore much more strongly Democratic than many GOP-held seats. Even when GOP-held seats are in \u201chighly conservative rural America,\u201d they are \u201cnot as conservative, not as Republican as their urban counterparts are Democrat.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo the Democrats right today have an advantage,\u201d Rove declared, \u201cbut it\u2019s likely to reduce \u2014 produce a relatively small margin in the House elections.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd remember, this is a contest between two unfavorables,\u201d he concluded. \u201cThe president\u2019s unfavorability is at 40 percent. The Democratic Party\u2019s unfavorability is below 37.
